Asperger Syndrome

Asperger Syndrome is one of several previous separate sub-types of autism that were folded into the single diagnosis autism spectrum disorder in 2013. Asperger Syndrome is a type of pervasive developmental disorder. It is characterized by major difficulties in social interaction, restricted repetitive and stereotyped patterns of behavior, interests and activities, delays in the ability to socialize with others, to communicate and to use imagination. Individuals with Asperger Syndrome are higher functioning and have average or above average intelligence.
