Sally J. Butler, Esq.
Sally Butler is a criminal defense attorney with offices in New York and Los Angeles. She is admitted to practice in California, New York and Colorado. She is a member of the Federal Criminal Justice Act Panels in the Eastern District of New York and the Central District of California. She has extensive experience and success at defending individuals and entities that are under investigation and accused of state and federal crimes.
After graduating from University of Santa Clara Law School in 1984, Ms. Butler clerked for the Honorable Chief Justice Philip Roan in Colorado District Court, Criminal Division in Brighten Colorado. In 1985, she became an Assistant District Attorney with the Queens District Attorney’s Office in New York City. During her thirteen years as a prosecutor, Ms. Butler prosecuted drug cases, violent assaults, homicides, wiretaps and white collar crimes.
After leaving the world of prosecution, Ms. Butler utilized her vast experience to successfully defend hundreds of clients charged with misdemeanor and felony crimes in state and federal courts throughout the United States. She is admitted to practice in multiple districts in the United States and has represented individuals and corporations from around the world. Among others, Ms. Butler has represented international drug cartels, accused terrorist, violent gang members and white collar defendants.
In addition to her criminal defense work, Ms. Butler is a patient advocate for the Food and Drug Administration in Washington, D.C. Her skill, as a criminal defense attorney and advocate for justice, enables her to challenge government policies and fight for fair access to healthcare.
